What Personal Data We Collet and Why We Collect It
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Contact, Purchase, Registration and Opt-In Forms
If you submit a contact, purchase, registration or opt-input form we gather your information from that form in order to contact you, complete your purchase, register you and receive payments for registration, and to opt you into offers from our website. We do not sell or share this information except with our outside service partners as required to contact you, complete a purchase, complete a registration or opt you in to an offer.
We use Zapier to transmit some of your data securely to our service providers. We use Replyable by WPTavern to provide email reply capability to blog comments. We use secure Stripe credit card input forms to process your payments and transmit necessary data securely to Stripe. We use ActiveCampaign to provide receipts, communications, and emails directly related to you contact request, purchase, registration or opt-in.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
If you complete a form on our website or click an offer button we may, for your convenience, set a cookie to determine to indicate that the form has been completed or the button has been clicked so that the offer will not appear in your browser again. Analytics
We use Monster Insights with the EU Compliance GDPR Addon that anonymizes IP addresses on all Google Analytics hits, eCommerce hits, and form tracking hits, disables UserID tracking on Google Analytics hits, eCommerce hits, form tracking hits, disables the Demographics and Interests Reports for Remarketing and Advertising tracking on Google Analytics hits.
We use Google Analytics with Anonymization. Google Analytics is a web analysis service provided by Google LLC (“Google”). Google utilizes the Data collected to track and examine the use of this Application, to prepare reports on its activities and share them with other Google services. Google may use the Data collected to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network. This integration of Google Analytics anonymizes your IP address. It works by shortening Users’ IP addresses within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the complete IP address be sent to a Google server and shortened within the US.
Google Web Fonts
For uniform representation of fonts, this page uses web fonts provided by Google. When you open a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache to display texts and fonts correctly.
For this purpose your browser has to establish a direct connection to Google servers. Google thus becomes aware that our web page was accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web fonts is done in the interest of a uniform and attractive presentation of our plugin. This constitutes a justified interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) DSGVO.
If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font is used by your computer.
Further information about handling user data, can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google’s privacy policy at https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.
How Long We Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Your data with our service providers ActiveCampaign and Stripe are retained for as long as you remain subscribed or as required by GAAP for accounting, tax, and reporting purposes. Your data is not retained within Zapier integrations.
You may request the deletion of any data we store at any time.
